Natalie Le Clerc Brief Biography
Natalie Le Clerc has been working in the travel industry for more than twenty years, and is currently one of the senior executives at Red Carnation Hotels, a group of boutique hotels operated by the travel giant, The Travel Corporation (TTC). Before arriving at TTC, Le Clerc was working at world-class resorts in Australia and The Maldives. Joining Contiki, a well-known brand of TTC in UK/Europe in 1999, Natalie has since taken on various management roles at resorts situated in popular locations including Bali Indonesia, Mykonos Greece and her native country of Australia. She has extensive experience in the hospitality and tourism business as well as management positions in various international travel companies.
Background in Travel
When she began working in the travel industry, Natalie Le Clerc was still in Australia where she worked as a retail travel agency consultant, and as an operations officer at Club Med Lindeman Island, in the Whitsundays. . This job was followed by a move to the Maldives where she was transport manager at Club Med Farukolhufushi. Following a working stint on the Taipan Sailing Yacht, a luxury charter yacht, she became a European tour manager with Contiki, which is part of The Travel Corporation family of travel operators. In that position she specialized in leading tour groups composed of travellers aged 18-35. On those excursions she was responsible for groups of up to fifty tourists travelling throughout Europe on trips lasting up to 46 days. She also helped develop Contiki's newest resorts becoming manager of guest services at Great Keppel Island in Australia, and later took on the role of resort manager at the Contiki Resort Mykonos, Greece. Additionally, she worked as an assistant manager at Contiki's Resort Bali in Indonesia and was later promoted to be its general manager.
Entering the World of Boutique Hotels
In November 2008 Natalie Le Clerc took her first position with the Red Carnation Hotels as the general manager of The Breezes Resort and Spa in Bali, Indonesia. In this position she reported directly to the managing director of the Red Carnation Hotels. She took measures to ensure and sustain profitability in the resort along with overseeing high-level hospitality services for the guests. During her time at this post, she was in charge of all operations in the resort including food and beverage, maintenance, security, entertainment, and sales and marketing. Her scope of responsibilities also included developing business connections between the Red Carnation Hotels and global travel wholesalers, as well as developing local sales and marketing strategies. Along with oversight of new employees, Le Clerc was also responsible for their high level training that was required through the Red Carnation Hotels operating procedures. In 2009 she moved within Red Carnation Hotels to her next position as general manager of Mountbatten Resorts Indonesia, . In 2011 she was promoted to senior executive committee at Red Carnation.
Personal Background
Natalie Le Clerc was born in Australia and educated in the local public schools. Pursuing her passionate interest in the tourism industry, she studied for a diploma in travel at the Traveland College in Sydney. She is a fitness enthusiast and enjoys practicing yoga and Pilates.
